Well friends, the time has come and Valve has decided to part ways.
Obviously, there are so many people we would like to thank for helping us
over the years that it would be impossible to list them all here, and more
impossible to express our appreciation. Let us just say thank you to all
the fans that have followed us over these years and made us feel like our
songs meant something; to all the bands that we got to share the stage with
and made it exciting to play; to all the people that gave us a helping hand
out on the road—from floors to food and more; to all the clubs, promoters
and radio stations who gave us a home when we didn’t have one; and to the
small group of people that backed this band above and beyond what would ever
be expected—you know who you are.
We will be performing two final shows in the month of May---Friday the 2nd,
we will be in Fort Worth and on Friday the 9th, we will be in Dallas. We
look forward to seeing all of you at these shows. There may be a possible
Valve member or two from the past joining us on stage, so check our
show page for all the details. This site will continue to stay up and
running and we’ll have some future posts about all of us and what we’ll be
up to in the future.
Casey, Josh & Tony
So the time has come and Valve is currently looking to find a permanent
drummer for our rock outfit. Anyone interested can shoot an email to us
at info@valverocks.com. We all had a good time playing with Jordan the
last few months and appreciate him offering to help us out till the end
of the year. We'll make sure and reimburse him for any broken cymbals
and/or drums due to the smashing force of our Mr. Gattone.
In the meantime we will be mixing our new CD with Matt Pence in January.
We are all very excited to get something new out and look for posts of
the songs on the website by late January. After that, we will be back
out and about playing shows. So we hope everyone has a great holiday
and look forward to some new rock in 2003.
PS - Two brand new hi-fashion t-shirt designs have been added to the Valve
collection. You can go check em out and buy online in our merch
section.
Now how easy is that??
Valve will be opening up for The Riddlin Kids this Friday at the Galaxy Club.
It's an early all ages show. Check out all the info on the shows
page.
We've confirmed a couple shows in the midwest for early November and hope to add one or two more. Check out the shows page for all the details on the Chicago
& Kansas City shows. This will be our last run this year so we hope to see all you guys out there!
We've got a few sizeable pieces of news to catch up on here concerning the Valve
camp, so here goes:
As many of you know, our friend Max Lintner has decided to hang up the old drumsticks
for now and pursue other endeavors in his life. We've all had a great time being
in this band with him over the last year and a half and we all wish him the best.
We're happy to announce that Jordan Richardson will be taking over the drum duties.
You might have seen Jordan play in the rock outfit Soviet Space from Fort Worth
TX. Jordan's already soaked up all the past Valve songs and we're already recording
new ones...which now takes us to the next update.
There is a new spot on the Sound/Jukebox page entitled 2002
Demos. You can go there to listen to the newest Valve demos as we finish them.
Every week or so a new song will be added to the page. Email us with feedback
if your heart desires. A certain number of these songs will end up on our next
album. We are also currently recording another four songs with Matt Pence which
should be done by the end of September. Look for those to start being posted in
early October.
As for rock shows, we're going to keep it close to home for the next couple months
as we continue to record. We will make one more short trip up through the midwest
(including Chicago) in the early part of November. Otherwise, you are going to
have to travel to our neck of the woods! We hope to see all you guys soon. Make
sure and check the shows page as dates will be posted as they are confirmed.
Hey gang, just wanted to drop a line to you guys and let you know what's going on with us. We've been writing alot these days and
are in the middle of recording four new songs with Matt Pence (Centro-Matic). We're working the last kinks out of these songs and
are really happy with the way they're developing. These songs should be done in the next few weeks and we will post the demos here
on the site for you to hear.
Look for a trip up through the Midwest coming in July, and then a few weeks on the road with our friends Bowling for Soup in August.
We’ll be hitting a lot of cities on these trips that we haven’t been to in a while, so watch the shows page for dates as they’re
confirmed. And finally, at the end of the summer we are slated to start recording a new album with Matt. We'll have those details
here soon.
A few things to catch up on since our last news update. Valve has been demoing new songs in Dallas the
last two months while playing a few regional shows. There's around 8-10 new songs being worked on and
we are slowly adding them into our live shows. Valve shows are a bit more sparce now but look for a tour
up through the midwest this summer. Click here http://www.kdge.com/edge-acousticcafe.html
to check out some photos of the morning Edge Acoustic Cafe from February. There you'll find photos of
Jimmy Eat World, Valve, Lucy Loves Shroeder and Ron Jeremy? Also, the Inverse Records compilation Voice
This Sound is officially out. There's 22 tracks including songs from Ultimate Fakebook, Shatzi, Pop Unknown,
River City High, Valve, Chomsky, Time Spent Driving, Doosu, Red Animal War and more. This comp really
rocks so pick up a copy at http://inverserecords.com. Hats off
to Joel for putting it together.
Valve's "Upper West Coast" will appear on the first Inverse Records Compilation due out in the next couple
of months. Other bands confirmed to be on the disc include Pop Unknown, River City High, Time Spent Driving,
Schatzi, Red Animal War, Doosu and more. The exact release date will be posted when it becomes available.
Valve will be back on 102.1 KDGE's Morning Show this Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, Valve will join

Valve and Jimmy Eat World!
Be sure to tune your radios to 102.1 The Edge this Thursday morning (Dec. 20) at 7:15am as the members
of Valve will be visiting the Morning Edge to play Smartass Trivia. You can call in to play and see how
effective the Valve minds are at that hour of the morning. You might even win a cool prize. And don't
forget later that night Valve will be performing live at Club Clearview for an Edge Sessions show hosted
by Josh. It will be our last show of the year, so come out and bring your holiday cheer! Also, check out
the shows page for the details on The Edge Xmas Party this Tuesday night at The Hard Rock Cafe.
Valve has been added to the Jimmy Eat World show at the Gypsy Tea Room (Dallas, TX) on Friday February
15. Tickets go on sale today and are available through Star Tickets at Good Records, CD World, Albertsons
