Valve rocks hard enough to call them a rock band but also has pop hooks catchy enough to get a chorus stuck in your head for days. They combine loud guitars, catchy pop, moog synths and strong vocals. A unique sound blurring the lines of traditional, indie and poprock. With hundreds of shows under their belt, Casey Diiorio (v/g), Josh Heidler (g/moog), Tony Gattone (b), and Max Lintner (d) have become known for their captivating live shows that infectiously convert first time listeners into loyal fans. Their latest release, A Perfect Day for Stars recently hit #140 on the College Music Journal (CMJ) charts in April 2001, staying in the top 200 for six weeks.

Valve began as singer/songwriter/guitarist Casey Diiorio started writing and recording new material in his home studio in 1997, playing all the instruments himself. By early 98, Valve had played their first show and immediately headed to the studio to record a seven song EP. The Valve EP (self-released) and an incredible live show put Valve on the map in the Dallas music scene and caught the attention of many radio stations, clubs and especially fans. Valve was nominated by both The Dallas Observer and The North Texas Music Festival for "Best New Artist of 98."

After a year and a half of endless touring throughout the Southwest and Midwest, Valve had built an ever-growing fan base and headlined in over a dozen cities. In late 99 the band headed back into their own studio in Dallas to record songs for their first full length CD. Released in May 2000, A Perfect Day for Stars (Ffroe/One Ton) contains 12 rock songs that were recorded with Casey Diiorio behind the board and mixed by Matt Pence (centro-matic, Peter Schmidt) and Steve Brown. A Perfect Day for Stars was sent to college radio in March 2001 and charted on CMJ's Top 200 within three weeks. The songs Drained and Overrated became staples on over 150 college radio stations throughout the US and Canada. Valve was also included on four compilations in 2000, including one for KEGL 97.1 and The Merge 93.3 in Dallas.

In 2001, Valve continues to attract larger crowds throughout the Southwest and Midwest while playing alongside bands like Jimmy Eat World, Superdrag, Oleander, Shiner, Ashtray Babyhead, Bowling for Soup and Pop Unknown. The band is currently demoing new songs in Dallas.
